We’ve got exciting news! GroupMe is introducing a new Edit Message feature that lets you fine-tune your conversations with ease—whether you made a typo, changed your mind, or just wanted to clean up your message. 🎉

✨ What’s New? Edit Your Message Within 15 Minutes

We know how frustrating it can be when you hit "send" only to spot a mistake right afterward. That’s why we’re giving you the ability to edit your messages within 15 minutes of sending! 🔥

Here’s how it works:

Long press on a message or click the More Menu (on desktop).
Select “Edit” (only within the 15-minute window).
Edit your message easily with the compose interface that pops up.
Hit send, and voilà—your message has been updated!

🖼️ Editing Captions on Photos & Attachments

What about when you share images or other attachments? If you’ve added a caption to a photo, you can now edit only that caption after the fact.

If there’s no caption associated with the attachment, the Edit option won’t show.
If a caption is part of your attachment, you can easily adjust it without needing to resend or remove the photo entirely.

📢 Special Perks for Announcement Groups

For GroupMe users in announcement groups, we’ve added an extended edit window of 30 days for group owners and admins. This change aligns with the needs of broadcast groups, giving admins more flexibility while managing important messages.

Getting Started with GroupMe

Get the app: Download the GroupMe App or navigate to GroupMe.com

Sign Up or Log In: Go to GroupMe and sign up for an account if you don’t have one. If you already have an account, simply log in.

Create a Group Chat: Once logged in, create a new “Group Chat” for your community. This will be the central hub for all communications.

Invite Members: Send out invites to your community to join the group chat. You can do this directly within the app by sharing a join link or entering in their phone number.
